Biography of Ray Ashurst

Ray has vast taxation experience in both the public and private sectors, having worked initially in the Inland Revenue as a senior Tax Inspector for 14 years, before moving to professional practice, latterly at Grant Thornton as a senior tax manager for 19 years in both the Warrington and Liverpool offices.

He provides what is increasingly rare in a tax professional and that is a sound and detailed knowledge of a range of direct taxes, from Corporation Tax to Income Tax and from Capital Gains Tax to Inheritance Tax. His particular strength is in providing advisory and planning services to mid-market entrepreneurial and family business and their owners and to professional practices and their partners.

He has worked closely with Howard over many years and together they relish getting a true understanding of their clients’ personal and commercial objectives and then providing practical and innovative solutions and structures that meet those objectives.
